We all know, or will know a friend or family member go through a tough time. Either due to accident, stupidity or fate. We will probably go through a few challenges ourselves.
Some use religion as a source of comfort, and although I am not religious; what ever works is a good thing.
I see many people who don’t have religion. But have a inner strength, they can reason the problem out. Come to terms with it & move on from that point.
I see & read about amazing people who overcome challenges. And the common thread seems to be a acceptance of their situation; giving themselvesĀ realisticĀ challenges to move forward.
A life that is not true to itself is a terrible waste of a opportunity. We all have faults, the truth is they are part of us & shaped us. I hope with this understanding we can change our faults into lessons learned!
Have a wonderful day!

How the Internet or Web is changing our world.
We live in a mobile world, I find it easier to get my news & write my blog on my phone. We have our social networks, too many for me to be actually social. Personally I think texting is the most social program. As I’m actually having a conversation rather than just making statements.
The social thing like other online programs will change as one loses popularity as another takes the lead. Just like trendy bars in Los Angeles. They are only the flavor for a short time.
There are other ways our world is changing.
The Arab Spring would never have occurred without social networks. Groups who wish to promote their cause now have a platform. This can be good or bad depending on the cause!
I believe in free speech, but hate & violence are not free speech. The promotion of free speech while restricting hate is the challenge of the modern web.
Pornography (the industry), is actually on the decline due to the web. With so many free online sites & people willing to put their exploits on the web for free!
I see a change in our TV viewing in the near future. The only thing holding change back is the media companies. The advent of the reality show (oxymoron), was probably the worst thing to happen to TV since its inception. I have never understood the purpose in giving fools a platform just for ratings. I know it’s cheap but there is no value in it!
The web will be our answer to this, as content & software develop more of our viewing pleasure will be web based rather than just network TV. It will of course have to be paid for. My hope is we move to a one payment system for everything. Web, tv, data, because in a digital world it’s all just data! You pay for the data you use. Very simple & no throttling thank you.
I do wonder what will happen to the TV when we get all our news and shows on our mobile devises. Will the TV just be for gaming? We are in a constant state of technology transition waiting for the next leap. Only when that’s settled & people have decided what works do we know. Until then it’s just opinion, this was mine!
Thank you!!
Go-Daddy & Comcast
This morning I was billed from a account for an amount to Go-Daddy. I used them to host a site a couple of years ago for a business venture that went nowhere. I set the site up and registered a couple of domains, all normal so far. Well the domains were due to expire late last year, and I received confirmation of the expiration; again all is good so far! Now comes this bill for expired domains taken directly from one of my accounts. I am notified when any transactions take place and I called the parties involved and the matter has been sorted.
So I am sitting here thinking how could this occur, the Go Daddy company wasn’t given permission to take any money from me, and I never subscribed to the auto renew. I must admit to finding this yet another reason to be so careful who I sign up with and what access they are given.
I had a quite bad experience with Comcast seven years ago. I had moved apartments and I had cancelled my cable in one apartment and it took about three months before I decided to purchase it again for the new place. Upon checking my bank account I discovered Comcast had charged me for cable and internet for the three months I had non. I was alarmed so I called them, the most disturbing thing was how rude one guy was, he called me a liar and said I hadn’t cancelled my account. The fact I had returned the cable box and remote & had a receipt was of no consequence to him (a real ass-hole)!
Needless to say I pestered them and after a few calls my money, which was around the $300 area was returned by check in two installments; yes they couldn’t make one check! I am not with them any more and I won’t be if I have a choice. I don’t sign for auto pay because of that mess, and I never will. The situation today was resolved quickly and without incident.
Most bank accounts today will have a notification section where you can decide how to be notified and which transaction you desire notification. I highly recommend this service, and if you don’t have it set up you should do so. It can really save you time and money!
Have a great day!
The Leveson Inquiry
The Leveson inquiry is going on in England after the News of The World scandal, phone tapping incident. A number of prominent media personalities, and quite famous people are telling how their lives have been effected by invasive journalists and paparazzi doing quite nasty things to get a story or picture.
I have never been fond of the paparazzi, the way some tabloid journalists distort the truth and invade people’s privacy in the name of freedom of the press. I have seen in my job a number of times the lengths some would go to get information. And to be honest if you took the specter of legitimacy provided with the press badge it would be called stalking and harassment.
But the end may be near for these persons who feel nobody’s business is their own. The press in having freedom to report was also supposed to act mature and police itself. A bit like the banks under the GOP, and we all know what happened with that idea! I can see new regulations coming into effect in England which will I hope make it harder for the paparazzi to invade people’s lives. Maybe put and end to the practice all together. Tabloid journalists can still interview and report gossip, just won’t be able to actually harass the celebrities any more.
If this does happen in the UK will it come over to the States, I think the celeb’s here would try to make it happen. This brings to question what will be left for the press here? You see although the press have been behaving badly, I still want them to be able to write without government intimidation. That’s what all the freedom of the press thing was supposed to be about anyway! It was not put in place to talk about Brittany Spears, or Lindsey Lohan!
Personally my answer is to give each celebrity copyright over their own media, If someone prints a picture in a derogatory way or prints a lie they can take them to court. It’s a pain but it would give the real press the freedom to function while I hope protect the celebs from the parasites!
Is the Political System In the USA Busted, and Broke?
While most of Europe is struggling to overcome the collapse and subsequent bail out of financial institutions in 2008, the United States seems to politically be in a void. The direction it should be taking is the same as any other country in a crisis, cut government spending and increase revenue to maintain government business. Because when companies won’t hire and you have a population with no income, where else can you go to survive. The government must supply stability until such time that business takes over.
To lay off government workers when you don’t have to is crazy, they will be getting government assistance for a period of time; so why do it? The answer is politics, we live in a bazaar world where it’s not what you do but what you say that matters. People don’t even care what a political party does in the states, it’s your ideology that’s most important; how you are defined.
During the second world war americans bought government bonds to help pay for “Rosie the Riveter,”this put so many americans to work that the country boomed for a decade after the war. So why aren’t we doing this now, there is enough infrastructure that hasn’t been updated since the 1970’s. There are two plans for this, Republicans favor giving the money to industry in tax breaks, hoping the extra profits will turn into jobs and higher income. This would be great if those companies did actually hire. This approach has added years to the recession. I hope in the next decade the united states learns that private industry can do only so much. And if all government intervention to help citizens is considered socialism. The days of the USA being number one may be dwindling.
